Season 4 Musical Theatre Showcase

sunday may 31st

Showcase is one of the busiest and most exciting times at Generations!

We believe that the opportunity to perform allows dancers to develop their confidence, teamwork skills, and work ethic, all while increasing their technique and artistic skills. But all of this can be stressful. This page is here to help you and your family have a positive Showcase experience. Please ask us any questions you might have.

drop off & pick up

Drop Off: Please arrive at the Winchester Street Theatre with your performer’s hair and makeup done. First Musical Theatre should arrive in costume. Junior and Youth Musical Theatre can bring their costume/accessories with them to change at the theatre. The drop off is on the south side of the theatre on Winchester Street. One parent/adult may bring their performer to their assigned dressing room door to sign them in. After you drop off your performer, please head to the audience for seating or wait outside in the beautiful weather. All performers are expected to stay for the entire performance. Our staff and teachers will be present with the students backstage.

Important: First Showcase and Showcase A will feature awards.

Medals: If your child was with us in Season 1 (2022/23), Season 2 (2023/24), or Season 3 (2024/25), your performer will receive their special year pin. All new students will receive their Generations medal.

Pickup: One parent may pick up their performer from their dressing room at the end of their showcases. Please use the same door for pick up as for drop off. Parents will not be permitted backstage via the stage. You may leave your belongings in the dressing room between shows.

between showcases

There is a short break between showcase A & B to get your performer food, a rest and to return. We request you plan, pack a meal to bring, head outside or to Riverdale park by the Riverdale farm (5 min walk) to rest and eat before signing back in OR to Parliament street for some food.  If you’d like your child to stay between shows, please let us know at drop off, and we will have faculty on hand to supervise students in the studios. Pack extra snacks and bring an old t-shirt or cover-up for eating.

PIZZA ORDER 1:15 PM: As the turnaround time between the 12:00 pm and the 2:30 pm showcase is short, we will be placing a pizza order for any students & families who wish to have food ready for them at 1:15 pm (pizza, chips, cookies, drinks).  Orders will open with the tickets on Friday, April 17, 2026.

theatre location & accessibility

The Musical Theatre showcase will be held at the Winchester Street Theatre (80 Winchester St, Toronto, ON M4X 1B2). This is a 30-40min drive (traffic depending) from the studio.

Parking Information: Street parking is limited but free until 12 AM. Green P parking is available at 51 Aberdeen Avenue.

TTC Information: Take the Bloor-Danforth subway line to Castle Frank station. From there, take the Parliament Street bus south to Winchester Street (about a 5-minute ride). Walk east for one block along Winchester Street. Or, take the Carlton Streetcar east to Parliament Street. Walk north for two blocks to Winchester Street (at the next set of traffic lights), turn right, and walk for one block.

Theatre Accessibility

Unfortunately, the Winchester Street Theatre is not currently wheelchair accessible. We apologize for the barrier this creates. There are three steps outside of the front entrance, a small platform, and then three more steps to the lobby (a straight hallway that then leads you to the theatre). To access the private gender-neutral restrooms, there are five additional steps at the end of the lobby. We can accommodate accessible seats in the front row for those in need - see ticket page for reference.

showcase tickets

We have 140 tickets per show, with no assigned seating. First Musical Theatre only has one performance at 11:30am. Junior & Youth have 2 performances. You do not have to purchase tickets to both performances, only the showcase you wish to attend. All students will be backstage with supervision. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 17th, at 7 am. Please buy your tickets in advance, as we may sell out.

Tickets are $26.50 + HST & FEES to help offset the costs of putting on a wonderful showcase weekend. Children 2 and under who can sit on an adult’s lap are free.

showcase makeup & hair

We encourage all performers to wear the appropriate character makeup & hair as specified by your teachers on stage.

showcase flowers and t-shirts

For many families, giving flowers to performers is a tradition. Roses and rainbow bouquets are available to pre-purchase by San Fiori Events and Floral (one of our awesome parents!) should you wish to partake in this tradition.

Special this year: Generations Vibes T-Shirts, which you can pre-purchase for pick up at the show.

Flowers and t-shirts will go on sale Friday, April 17th, at 7 am (the same day as the tickets).

video recording

Photography and videography are not permitted in the theatre. We are professionally filming the 10:30 am and the 12:00 pm showcases. Digital copies are included in your Production fee. The digital download link will be emailed out to all families by the end of June 2025.

If you have any questions regarding any of the above information, please chat with us at the front desk or email us at hello@generationsperformingarts.com and we will be happy to support you!
