5th Anniversary Community Classes

September 25 - 7:30-8:30 pm. ALL above 17 are welcome. No experience, no expectations, no pressure. Contemporary is dance that follows breath and weight rather than counts and steps, and this class is built for people who've never taken one. We'll warm up, move across the floor, and learn a short bit of choreography you'll actually get to dance by the end of the hour. Come in whatever you can move in — bare feet or socks, that's it.

October 23 Swing 7:30-8:30pm. Swing is the most social dance there is, and the fastest to feel good at. In one hour you'll pick up the basic step, a turn or two, and enough lead-and-follow to hold your own on a dance floor. No partner needed — we rotate, so everyone dances with everyone. Wear something you can move in and shoes that let you pivot.

November 13 Belly Dance 7:30-8:30pm. One of the oldest dance forms in the world, and one of the most forgiving to start. This class is all about isolations — hips, chest, shoulders moving independently — plus the shimmies and undulations that make belly dance look effortless once you find them. It's low-impact, it works with whatever body you brought, and there's a good chance your abs will let you know about it tomorrow. Bare feet or soft shoes; a scarf or hip belt if you have one, but not required.

December 11 Yoga Fusion 7:30-8:30pm. A blend of styles rather than one set practice. Expect yoga dance, vinyasa flow, a touch of Qi Gong, and restorative poses to finish — some of it moving and musical, some of it slow and grounded, and time at the end to just rest. Come as you are, whatever your experience. Bring a mat if you have one.
